Cake Pops
Ahhh! Cake Pops. They seem to be the popular item right now taking over the cupcake reign of fire. I tasted one a while back and it was delicious. My dear friend and relative Terry got a hold of the recipe and sent it to me...I will give you the recipe and also share my tips and lessons that I learned from my first cake pop experiment!
http://veronicascornucopia.com/2010/01/20/cake-pops-2/
This is the tutorial I used...
Before beginning to make these I have a couple of tips!!
1. Have a large styrophone ready to stick your pops in to
2. Have plenty of fridge space
3. Return your pops to the fridge as often as possible
4. Do not make your pops too big (this will cause them to fall off your stick or slide down the stick...and so will not keeping them cold)
5. Have a double boiler and (NO unsweetened cocoa is not tasty!! nor is it the same as good ghiradelli)
6. I made my own royal icing and love the taste of using icing!
7. USE the food processor...the less lumps the better
8. Make a good box cake or good cake by scratch!
This batch was made with home-made royal icing and all of these tips above were not followed and hence they are not my best batch and will not be my last!! The icing turned out awesome and now I have the correct icing for my sugar cookies....Good Lesson learned. But these are very sweet! I will follow the 8 tips above in the future!
and then I had some icing left and this is what I did! I think I will stick these on cupcakes!!

DIY Wreath - Fabric
I made this wreath for a very special person in my life and I am guessing that person will know it is for them once they look at it. I believe it is one of my best fabric wreaths yet and will probably be an early birthday gift!
I used about 1/2 year of three kinds of fabric (one was burlap) .. I used the middle size wire wreath and tied the fabric using the two middle wires. The top I tied raffia and glued a red bow and hung a star. This is true Texas style!
Hope you like! I am still not sure about the red bow but my son liked it. let me know what you think!

Ahhh...More of the crafty things I have been making
Firsts!!
Today we took Andrew to his swimming lessons. Until this year, he was terrified of the water. He took lessons when I was pregnant with Haydon and almost a month in to the lessons, Andrew got in trouble for playing in the water and was sat in time-out. Note to anyone out there giving lessons: Give the kids Procedures in the beginning! When he got in trouble (our shy boy afraid of the H20), he decided he would never swim again. Almost two years later...at the beginning of the Summer my nephews were staying with us and we took them swimming. Next thing we know, and Andrew says he doesnt need his floaties any more, takes them off and starts swimming (everywhere) and then after a few times at the pull he is pulling cannonballs and back dives. I really believe God has granted him some swimming ability. He is a very good swimmer for his age. So we have decided to get him lessons again. Today was his first lesson at BodyWorks in Lubbock, Tx and he had so much fun! I only got one pic as to not scare him!!! Love this lil man...
And tonight we had another first. I got Haydon undressed for his bath and he showed sign lol of needing to pee, so I sat him on his little potty and he used the bathroom for the first time!! My lil 13 1/2 month old....It was funny as he laughed the whole time!!
And then tonight he decided to crawl in the stool he tipped over and got stuck. There are two pictures. The first is the 1st time and the 2nd is the time he decided he didnt learn his lesson the first time!! HAH :)

Also finished 2 teacher gifts for my nephews to use at Christmas, my two little candy holders, a little bag for my magazines, books etc I had a date with the most interesting man alive haha....
